Skol Brewery Ltd (SBL) is a subsidiary of UNIBRA, a Belgium-based company dealing in Breweries, Real Estate and Financial Services.

UNIBRA has had brewing operations in Africa since the mid-twentieth century. The company is proud to produce and commercialize SKOL, a very successful brand selling over 45,000,000 hectoliters internationally as one of the TOP 5 beer brands worldwide. Currently SKOL can be found in more than 10 African countries.

SBL is operating in Rwanda since 2010 and is now one of the fastest growing companies in the country reaching 25% market shares.

Since beginning its operations in Rwanda, Skol brewery has introduced different brands to the market providing a refreshing choice of beers to satisfy various tastes.

  1. BRAND MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Jobholder is responsible to develop and ensure implementation of the brand marketing strategies for the SKOL brand in line with the brand portfolio objectives.

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to develop and recommend a brand plan for SKOL brand variants in Rwanda to ensure that brand objectives are achieved and are in line with brand portfolio objectives and SKOL brand identities and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and manage the following SKOL brand activities and ensure they fit with brand strategy:
    • Product and Packaging
    • Pricing Strategy
    • Advertising Strategy
      • Communication above-the line (TV, Radio, Billboards, Print)
    • Mass consumer promotions (Events outside of Point-of-Sales and agree jointly with TM Development the implementation techniques
  • Identify and propose research requirements to the Marketing Manager regarding the SKOL brand and rigorously analyze data to ensure that the SKOL brand issues are understood and corrective actions identified.
  • Creating an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share.
  • Championing the brand internally making sure all elements of the company understand the brand and its goals.
  • Seek out new Marketing opportunities that fit with the brand and maximizing all opportunities of growth.
  • Strong execution skills and emphasis on attention to detail;
  • Atleast 3 years proven experience of working as a brand manager ideally with beverage industry or FMCG
  • Understanding of commercial activities and ability to influence them on brand management is key.
  • Comfortable working with metrics and spreadsheets
  1. COMPETITIVE ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY

The Jobholder is responsible for competitive market research, analysis and reporting on market trends and this to allow strategic informed decision making

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Able to gather market intelligence and make timely reports to the Marketing Manager in order to track the market evolution and inform strategic decision making;
      • Customer information
      • Consumer behavior
      • Consumer complaints
      • Competitive information
    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking skills.
    • Experience with data and analytics and leveraging analytics to plan and drive sales and marketing efforts.
    • Self-starter that takes initiative, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

 

  • 3+ years of marketing or communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related discipline

 

  • Fully computer literate (MS Project, MS Power Point, MS Excel);
  • Fluent in English and / or French.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and propose research requirements to the Marketing Manager regarding the SKOL brand and rigorously analyze data to ensure that the SKOL brand issues are understood and corrective actions identified.
  • Craft and implement evidence-based, theory-driven communication solutions (e.g. digital products, such as websites, apps, and decision-support tools; social marketing and communication campaigns) that promote informed decision-making and/or behavior change
  • Maintain records on data and lead reporting to the relevant internal Partners
  • Previous experience working as a competitive analyst ideally with beverage industry or FMCG.
  1. ELECTRICIAN

JOB SUMMARY

The Jobholder is responsible for ensuring that electrical equipment and systems (facilities) are optimal operating and according to the standards of the brewery.

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Able to make the necessary repair and maintenance on electrical systems.
  • Have a university degree in electricity at level A0 with a professional experience of 2 years or have at least A1 in electricity with at least 3 years of professional experience;
  • Fluent in English and / or French
  • Be able to work under pressure;
  • Have a team spirit;
  • Having previous experience in a Fast-Moving consumer goods environment would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly preventive maintenance to reduce downtime of machines.
  • Interventions to repair machines at breakdown
  • Execute works relating to domestic installations (lights, socket etc…)
  • Maintain all instrumentations and control documentation to the standard required by the quality system.
  • Maintain updated work instructions and manual book for the machines.
  • Identify safety risk factors for all factory area and set corrective actions for these.
  • Suggest and execute the new electrical design, cabling and installations to improve efficiency, safety or cost reduction in the plant processing.
  1. MECHANIC

JOB SUMMARY

The Jobholder is responsible for ensuring that machines or equipment are maintained to basic conditions according to the brewery requirement & standards.

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Able to make the necessary repair and maintenance mechanical systems .
  • Have a university degree in mechanical engineering at least level A1 with a professional experience of 2 years or have a secondary school certificate in General Mechanic with a professional experience of at least 5 years;
  • Be fluent in English and / or French
  • Be able to work under pressure;
  • Have a team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly preventive maintenance to reduce downtime of machines.
  • Interventions to repair machines at breakdown
  • Part of the realization of the Root Causes Failure Analysis(RCFA)
  • Plan spare parts to be used according preventive maintenance schedule
  • Uses measuring instruments correctly
  • Manage mechanical workshop parts and equipment
  • Participate in TPM actions

 

  1. MACHINIST

JOB SUMMARY

The jobholder is responsible to operate efficiently the breweries utilities equipment as well as maintain them in good condition. Systems such as electricity distribution, water purification, steam production, co2 recuperation amongst others.

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Able to interpret operating parameters of running machines such as temperatures, pressures and levels and be able to take immediate actions to correct off-norms.
  • Have a university degree in mechanical engineering or electricity at least level A1 with a professional experience of 2 years or have a secondary school certificate in similar domains with a professional experience of at least 5 years;
  • Be able to work under pressure;
  • Have a team spirit;
  • Proficiency in English and / or French
  • Have a team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing of Utilities components
  • Take care of the logistic part of the plants (lime , lub.Oil and chemicals collection )
  • Participate in Utilities Management Control and Reporting System meetings.
  • Carryout Autonomous Maintenance activities in utilities on daily and weekly basis.
  • Receive and load out Light fuel and heavy fuel to the storage tanks.
